Resonant Protection Kit for Power Supply The kit using novel method can avoid the harmonic resonance phenomenon, especially for power factor correcting capacitor. This is a more economic way to protect power capacitor. The kit built-in microprocessor with FFT algorithm can calculate effectively over-current amplitude, which shall be converted by the voltage crossing the terminal of power capacitor, and no CT shall be required. Power Converter of a Hybrid Power Filter The technique is related to the power converter of hybrid power filter. This power converter is a bridge configuration, and it consists of a set of the power electronic devices and a dc capacitor. The salient point of this invention is that one line of the power feeder can connect to one of two dc capacitor voltage terminal without passing through connection point of the power electronic switch set. Hence, the number of the power electronic devices used in this invention is less than that used in the conventional power converter. Of course, this technique did a novel power converter of hybrid power filter, and resulted in cheaper cost about the converter.

Reactive Power Compensating Device A reactive power compensating device applies a small capacitance of a power converter to an ac capacitor to avoid resonance caused by the ac capacitor or linearly adjust the reactive power compensation within a specific range. It is characterized in that the power converter adopts a small amount of power switches (bridge structure omitting one terminal), wherein one power compensating line un-controlled by power switch is directly connected to either of a positive or negative terminal disposed on a dc side of the power converter. Consequently, the reactive power compensating device has an advantage of employing a small amount of the power switches.

Harmonic Suppressible AC/DC converter A harmonic suppressible AC/DC converter is only adapted to detect an input current and an output DC voltage, which is proportional to the input current, to an input side of the AC/DC converter. The input side of the AC/DC converter acts as a virtual resistor with a linear resistance characteristic, thereby obtaining an input current with high power factors and low harmonic distortion. The AC/DC converter converts energy from a power source to a stabilized DC voltage to supply to a DC load.The input current with high power factors and low harmonic distortion can therefore be provided without detecting and AC volage of a power source. As voltage frequencies of the power source are changed, acting the AC/DC converter as the virtual resistor can synchronously change frequencies of the input current. Under these conditions of changes in voltage frequencies of the power source, the AC/DC converter can be normally operated to obtain the input current with high power factors and low harmonic distortion.

Active Adjusting Device Having Alternating-Current Load Character An active adjusting device parallel-connects with a load, and then connects to a power source capable of generating an AC current. The active adjusting device comprises an energy-storing capacitance, an energy converter, a high-frequency filter, and a control circuit. The energy-storing capacitance provides a stable direct-current volage, and then the controlcircuit detects the direct-current voltage ofr excuting a closed-circuit control so as to stabilize the direct-current voltage, and to generate a detection current. The detection current is used as a feedback control for generating a drive signal to drive the energy converter so that the energy converter converts the direct-current voltage through the high-frequency filter to generate a first current. The first current parallet-connects with a second current generated from the load so that the AC ccurrent coming from power source. Thus, the load character in relation to the power source is considered as a resister character.

Bidirctional Active Power Conditioner A bidirctional active power conditioner comprises a DC terminal, a bidirctional DC/DC power converter, a DC/AC inverter and an AC terminal. The DC terminal electrically connects to a DC source. The bidirctional DC/DC power converter can produce a predetermined DC voltage or DC current by controlling the high frequency pulse width modulation. The DC/AC inverter can be operated under lower frequency so as to convert the expected DC voltage signal or DC current signal to a predetermined AC voltage signal or AC current signal. The AC terminal is electrically connected to a load, and the AC terminal can further connects to an AC source. Accoudingly, the bidirctional active power conditioner has the advantages including small installation size, simple control circuit, high efficiency and low installation cost.

Active Power Filter An active power filter apparatus comprises a power capacitor, a power inverter, a filtering circuit, and a controller. The controller controls the power inverter to be operated as a virtual fundamental frequency resistor to compensate for the losses of the apparatus, or a virtual fundamental frequency capacitor to compensate a load for fundamental frequency reactive power. The controller also controls the power inverter such that the power inverter can provide a specific order harmonic current proportional to the load for attenuating such a specific order of harmonic current of the load, and for selecting an attenuating ratio of such a specific order of harmonic current. The control method utilizes a current control mode to control the apparatus to provide a compensating currentand utilizes source current, a source voltage, and a energy storage capacitor voltage to evaluate a reference signal of the compensating current. The controller receives the two detected currents, including the rao source current and the source current which is filtered its fundamental frequency components. Accordingly, the compensating current can be further accurate.

Active Power Conditioner An active power conditioner comprises a first serial-connected power switch circuit, a second serial-connected power switch circuit, and a third serial-connected power switch circuit. When a source voltage varies, one of the second and third serial-connected power switch circuits of the active power conditioner is actuated under higher frequency, and the other two serial-connected power switch circuits are actuated under lower frequency. Accrodingly, the active power conditioner can fix a voltage across a load without using a power capacitor.

Modularized Active Power Filter A modularized active power filter comprises a control module and at least one power module. The control module can automatically detect the installation numbers of the power modules being installed and control each of the power modules such that all the power modules can jointly provide a total compensation demanded capacity. The total compensation demanded capacity equals to a required demanded capacity of a load. Accordingly, the active power filter has the advantages of flexible installation module numbers, short maintenance time, mass production, and reducing cost.
